Upon Who is Zakaah compulsory?
Zakaah is compulsory on every free Muslim who possesses the nisaab (minimum of ones wealth liable to Zakaah). However, there are conditions for the nisaab.
a. complete year (Islamic year ( based on the lunar calendar)) should pass except in the case of crops for their zakaah becomes due on the harvest day (pay the due (zakaah)) thereof on the day of its harvest..."(6:14)
b. should be on any wealth remaining after meeting expenses for the basic requirements such as accommodation, food, clothing and travel.
